Frequently Asked Questions About our Christmas Prime Rib

'Tis the season for fresh, Washington-based choice beef from family-owned butcher, Owens Meats! We will deliver either an eight or ten-pound prime rib roast right to your door. It will come in a custom wooden box - just in time for a perfect holiday meal. 

We answer the most common questions asked about our Christmas Prime Rib.

When do I get it delivered?

Your Prime Rib will be delivered with your weekly order on the week leading up to Christmas

(December 18th – December 22nd). 

Is it fresh or frozen?

It is a fresh, never frozen prime rib.

How long will it stay good in my refrigerator?

As long as the vacuum pack stays sealed, it will last 7 days refrigerated. If you want to keep it longer than that, we recommend freezing it.

How is it delivered to me? Will it fit in my porch box? 

Your prime rib is vacuum packed, and then will be placed into a custom wooden box to keep it secure. The box will be delivered in an insulted bag with an ice pack to keep it cold. Your Milkman will place it on top of or near your porch box. 

Where is the meat sourced from? 

The prime rib is packaged by Owens Meats, a family-owned company in Cle Elum. It is choice grown in Washington beef.

How many will it feed?

We recommend 12 oz. to 16 oz. per person.

Is it already seasoned?

No, however we will include a seasoning packet in the box for you.

How long does it take to cook?

It will typically take a few hours. Use a meat thermometer to ensure proper cooking temperature.

For rare you should remove it from the oven when the internal temp reaches about 120 degrees, for medium rare, temp should be 128-132 degree.

How is it packaged?

They are boneless and will have strings around them to hold it together nicely and are vacuum packed.
