2017 Northwest Harvest Food Drive

Join Smith Brothers Farms in partnering with Northwest Harvest for our annual food drive. Northwest Harvest is the largest independent hunger relief agency in the state of Washington, providing over 2 million meals to those in need every month.

Our goal is collect 20,000 pounds of food this year, so we’ll need a lot of support.

Here’s how you can help!

  • From September 18th – September 29th, place non-perishable foods in a bag on or next to your porchbox on the night before your delivery. Your milkman will collect the food.
  • If you would like to make a monetary donation, please make checks out to Northwest Harvest, place it in an envelope marked "Northwest Harvest Food Drive" and place it in your porchbox.

Suggested food items (ranked by importance):

  • Beef stew, chili and similar meals with low salt, sugar and saturated fats
  • Canned fruit, especially with low sugar (but not artificial sweeteners)
  • Canned fish or meat

Thanks for doing this! This is a big part of the reason I buy locally- because our companies tend to engage and do good work in our communities. Cheers!

I left a bag of food in a white bag, in plain sight, next to the milk box and it wasn't picked up. I will leave it out again next week and hope it gets picked up.

How about a staff stand up meeting where all drivers get the same " word" , pickup the donations that are Next to the Smith Brother box.
Also, suggest to clients to write in big letters on box or bag, DONATION FOR FOOD DRIVE - SMITH BROTHERS

I had two bags sitting next to our porch box, with "Food Drive" written on them. The milkman just left them sitting there.

We have asked to skip our delivery tomorrow, the 29th, but we would still like to donate food.  Can we do that?
