Delicious and fun to eat, artichokes are a versatile, low-calorie, nutrient-rich vegetable that can be served with nearly any entree - from poultry to seafood. Best within 5 to 7 days after purchasing, they can be stored easily by slicing a dime width off the stem, sprinkling with water, and refrigerating with an airtight plastic bag. Enjoy them grilled, stuffed, or as an ingredient in another dish!

How to Prepare Artichokes:

  1. Rinse and lightly scrub
  2. Snip the top and cut off the stem. Snip the tip of the outer leaves with kitchen scissors. Peel outer part of stem with a vegetable peeler, cut a quarter slice off the end, and cook along with artichokes.
  3. Rub cut artichoke with lemon to avoid browning.
  4. Spread petals apart.
  5. Add seasoning.
