How to Make Perfect Hard-Boiled Eggs (Instant Pot Method)

The Instant Pot creates steam under pressure, which gently separates the egg white from the shell for dream-level easy peeling. These easy hard-boiled eggs are perfect for meal prep, simple snacks, topping a green salad, or as the star in deviled eggs or egg salad.

Ingredients:

  • Eggs (as many as you like)
  • 1 cup water

Equipment:

  • Instant Pot
  • Trivet or steamer basket
  • Ice bath

Instructions:

  1. Pour 1 cup of water into the Instant Pot and place the trivet inside.
  2. Add eggs in a single layer on the trivet.
  3. Seal the lid and cook on High Pressure for 5 minutes. (Use the manual button and set the time to 5). 
  4. Let pressure release naturally for 5 minutes, then carefully quick release the remaining pressure until you can open the lid.
  5. Transfer eggs immediately to an ice bath for 5 minutes to stop the cooking process
  6. Tap, roll, peel and marvel at how the shells practically slide off.
