Join our 2020 Food Drive Benefiting Northwest Harvest

Join Smith Brothers Farms to help fight hunger in Washington!

From February 17 to 28, we're holding our annual food drive benefiting Northwest Harvest. Hunger continues to persist in households all across our state. There are 848,990 people who are struggling with hunger every day, and of that number, 284,760 are children.

Last year, we collected more than 18,000 pounds of food and $3,000 in cash donations from your porches and we hope to surpass that number in 2020!

Here’s How You Can Help

Give Food

Place non-perishable food items in a bag labeled “Food Drive” on your porch box the night before your delivery day and your milkman will take care of the rest!

What types of food does Northwest Harvest need?

General Food Items

  • Beef stew, chili, and similar meals with low salt, sugar, and saturated fats
  • Canned fruit, especially with low sugar (but not artificial sweeteners)
  • Canned fish or meat
  • Peanut butter (plastic jars are preferred)
  • Canned vegetables (low sodium)
  • Brown rice
  • Whole grain pasta
  • Canned tomato sauces
  • Shelf-stable milk

Infant and Baby Foods

  • Baby formula
  • Jars of baby food
  • Powdered or canned milk
  • Infant cereal
    Baby diapers are also accepted.

Monetary Donation

Northwest Harvest can feed a family of three a nutritious meal for just 67 cents. More than 90 cents of every dollar donated goes directly toward food distribution.

If you’d like to make a monetary donation, please make your check out to Northwest Harvest, place it in an envelope marked “Northwest Harvest Food Drive” and put it in your porch box for your milkman to pick up.

Once the food drive is completed and we've delivered all the donations to Northwest Harvest, we'll let you know how much we collected! Thanks for your help!

We are collecting this week but our next milk day is Monday March 2.  Will you pick up food that day?

Thanks for organizing the food drive. Forgot to leave a check at my pick-up box today. :-( I'll go ahead and make a donation via the Northwest Harvest web site that you've included above. Keep up the good work!
