Totchos: Pure PNW Comfort Food

Totchos Recipe

Born right here in the Pacific Northwest, Totchos are our kind of comfort food: crispy tots loaded like nachos with cheese, sour cream, and all your favorite toppings. Invented in Portland (of course!), this quirky twist on a classic snack captures everything we love about the region’s food scene: inventive, cozy, and just a little over the top.

Totchos are the perfect crowd-pleaser for game days, movie nights, or easy weekend dinners. Pile them high, pass around some forks, and dig in — no fancy presentation required.

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F.
  2. Spread tots in a single layer on a baking sheet and bake according to package directions, until golden and crispy.
  3. Sprinkle the hot tots with shredded cheese and return to the oven for 3–5 minutes, just until melted and bubbly.
  4. Transfer the cheesy tots to a serving dish and top with bacon, tomatoes, green onions, and jalapeños.
  5. Dollop with Smith Brothers Farms sour cream and season with a little salt and pepper.
