Build the Ultimate World Cup Snack Stadium

World Cup Snack Stadium

Whether you're cheering for your home team, hosting a watch party, or simply looking for an excuse to turn snacks into art, a DIY snack stadium is guaranteed to score big. With guacamole forming the soccer pitch, sour cream field lines, and stands packed with chips and fresh vegetables it doubles as party decor and a crowd-pleasing appetizer. The best part? It's easier than it looks! Ready to build your own? Follow these simple steps.

Supplies:

  • Rectangular casserole dish for the field
  • Piping bag (you can cut a small corner off a zip-close storage bag if you don't have a piping bag)
  • Platter or casserole larger than the field for the spectator (the dippers)
  • Optional Decorations:
    • Mini soccer balls
    • Team flags
    • Small bowls for additional dips
    • miniature goals

Ingredients:

  • 2–3 containers of guacamole
  • Sour cream (for field lines)
  • Blue corn tortilla chips
  • Yellow corn tortilla chips
  • Red bell pepper, sliced into strips
  • Baby carrots
  • Celery, sliced into sticks
  • Cherry tomatoes
  • Any favorite dippable vegetables

Step 1: Build the Pitch

Spread the guacamole into a smooth rectangle in the center of your smaller tray. Use a spatula to create clean edges and flatten the surface so it resembles a soccer field.

Don't worry about perfection. The snacks around it will do most of the work, and the important thing is to have fun.

Step 2: Draw the Field Lines

Transfer sour cream to a piping bag or zip-top bag with a small corner snipped off.

Pipe:

The outer boundary lines
The halfway line
A center circle
Penalty boxes
Goal boxes

Not sure where the lines go on a soccer field? Use our soccer field template here as a visual guide.

Your guacamole is already looking a lot more like a World Cup-worthy field!

Step 3: Create the Stands

Now for the fun part.

Arrange tortilla chips around the field to create stadium seating. Stand some chips upright and layer others behind them to give the illusion of packed grandstands.

Fill any gaps with vegetables, alternating colors and shapes to make the "crowd" look lively and festive.

Think of every chip and carrot as an enthusiastic fan cheering from the stands.

Step 4: Add Team Spirit

Decorate the stadium with team colors, small flags, or themed cocktail picks.

Step 5: Start Snacking

Place the finished stadium in the center of your party table and watch guests gather around before kickoff.

The beauty of a snack stadium is that it doesn't need to stay perfect. In fact, it gets more fun as fans slowly eat their way through the stands.

Alternative: Not a Guacamole Fan?

No problem.

Instead of using guacamole for the field, spread a layer of creamy dip such as French onion, ranch, or spinach dip across the center of your tray.

To create the look of fresh-cut grass, sprinkle a generous layer of finely chopped parsley or green herb of your choice over the top. Once covered, pipe the same sour cream field markings directly onto the parsley layer.

You'll get the same soccer-pitch effect with a flavor profile that appeals to guests who prefer a creamier dip.
